Do you export food to the USA? Or do you have another reason for needing an introduction to US food law? If so, then you have come to the right place. Through presentations, exercises and discussions, we will teach you all the basics, focusing on the FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) and related regulations. This course will be held in English. Zielpublikum:

The target participants are employees from food companies exporting to the USA, for example, from quality management or regulatory affairs. Other professionals are also welcome, for example attorneys needing an introduction to US food law.

No prior knowledge of US food law is required. The course is given in English; therefore, a good command of the English language is a prerequisite.


The course provides a general introduction to US food regulation and then focuses on the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and its corresponding rules.

  • General introduction to US food law (an overview encompassing legal framework, main legal acts, key authorities, sources of information)
  • Selected areas of regulation: general food labelling requirements / food safety: overview of FSMA and related rules.
